"Mexico didn't care about USMNT redemption clash" -sanchez TRENDY KHABAR
The idea that his teammates wanted a rematch in the Gold Cup final against the United States, who failed to qualify after losing to Panama on penalties, has been refuted by Mexico defender Jorge Sanchez.
"I feel that you're the ones that say that part [about resentment matches] with the US," Sanchez told journalists in the wake of overcoming Jamaica 3-0 in a Gold Cup elimination round on Wednesday at the Allegiant Arena in at Las Vegas. The United States of America have not arrived. Panama is the one present. We were unconcerned, not even concerned, about who would advance to the final.
In last month's Concacaf Countries Association elimination round, the USMNT facilitated to an agreeable 3-0 success over Mexico that prompted the terminating of previous mentor Diego Cocca.
The outcome left Mexico winless in their last six gatherings against the U.S., and since recruiting break director Jaime "Jimmy" Lozano days before the Gold Cup, there gave off an impression of being an opportunity to recover regard at the Gold Cup after the two sides equipped for the elimination rounds this week. However, earlier on Wednesday, the United States lost 5-4 on penalties to Panama, while Mexico easily defeated Jamaica.
Lozano stated in a post-match news conference, "Usually the dream final is the United States and Mexico, but for me that doesn't matter."
"When the game was over, someone interviewed me and asked, 'What are your thoughts about going against Panama?' I had no idea. Who we were going to play was unknown to me.
"I can assure you that's not my most pressing concern at this time. I trust that the goal continues as before and in the event that Panama is in the last this is on the grounds that they showed improvement over the U.S."
Midfielder Carlos "Charly" Rodriguez was obtuse when inquired as to whether there is a drop in pressure in light of the absence of the U.S. presence at the last in Inglewood, California's SoFi Arena on Sunday.
"I don't think so. Rodriguez stated, "A final is a tournament that must be won."
Mexico will look to win their most memorable prize since last lifting the Gold Cup title in 2019. With eight titles altogether, Mexico are the unsurpassed prize forerunners in the Concacaf competition. The USMNT are second with seven.
